Facts about Lipolysis

- Allure Magazine's October edition lists 8 individuals who suffered varying ranges of discomfort from Lipolysis treatments.

- The local NBC affiliate reported a story for us, then did a follow up where they found 6 more individuals who had problems or no results from treatment.  In almost every case, they were in some battle to get refunds from a '100% money back garuntee' program.

- Individuals used to be able to perform self injection of Lipostabil (PPC) in Brazil.  Until outbreaks of abscesses and infections due to improper injection techniques caused stricter regulations to be put into place and a change to use of PCDC.

- Within the Lipolysis Network throughout Europe, there have been over 80,000 injections given.  Only one case developed abscesses.

- Reports are that only 4% of all patients treated have a negative affect.  Abscesses are considered the rarest complication.  How many patients are there? 4% of 10000 is 400, how many of them have developed abscesses.  The 4% is the sum of all complications reported.

-  Classes are done to train the medical professionals, the classes cost $1000.

- Each state has different requirements for this treatment.  Some require a doctor, some allow for nurses.  There is not enough regulation in the system.

- There is a instrument, or gun, that can be used to administer the injections.  It ensures injections are given to the precise required depth.  one possible explanation for abscesses is improper injection depth.  Its known that some steroid users develop them since they self administer the injection
